Blurb:

Ashton Summers is on her way to becoming the most popular girl in school and nothing—or no one—is going to stand in her way. Especially not Luca Byron, her freak neighbor, with his tattoos, loud music, and distracting green eyes.

Luca Byron has three goals in life: get through high school with a low profile, make sure his garage band becomes something more than a hobby, and try to forget about his insufferable ex-best friend, Ashton, who he can’t get out of his mind.

The last thing Ashton and Luca want to do is rekindle their friendship, but when Ashton takes a tumble down the social ladder, Luca—with his new makeover—is the only one who can help her rise up again by pretending to be her boyfriend. At first, being together is unbearable and annoying, but things start to change as Ashton and Luca discover the real reasons they drifted apart seven years ago.

Now, keeping their hands off each other seems impossible.

Character Interview

Komal: When Arianne kindly invited Luca and Ashton to her blog for an interview, I knew I would have to take out some time from writing the sequel, Falling for Hadie, and go along as a chaperone.

Ashton: What is that supposed to mean? We’re old enough to do the interview without you.

Komal: Well, based on the way you two are playing ‘footsies’ under the table, you can’t keep your hands off each other! Someone has to be the responsible adult here and supervise.

Luca: I’m almost eighteen…

Komal: Right. Anyway, let’s get this interview started. It’s funny actually, because things weren’t always so great between the two of you, were they? There was a time when you thought Luca was a “freak”, right Ashton?

Ashton: *looks uncomfortable* Um, yeah. I guess I got a bit carried away and started copying what other people were saying about Luca. In my defense, he always dressed really weird. Like, he’d wear all black clothing and have black eyeliner on. There were so many tattoos all over his body, and don’t even get me started on his annoying garage band!

Luca: The only annoying thing around here is you.

Ashton: Excuse me! I am not annoying! You’re the one who’s always walking around like you’re…

Komal: Alright, break it up you two! Good grief! What changed? Why did you decide to start talking to each other after seven years?

Luca: Once again, Ashton was looking out for herself. She got kicked off the cheerleading squad and ostracized from her group of friends. Basically, she became an outcast like me.

Ashton: I admit at first I was looking out for myself, but I started missing our friendship the more we hung out. But I was also scared of getting too close again; scared that Luca would hurt me again.

Komal: But Luca did hurt you again. At Kendall’s party something happened which was quite shocking. Shame on you Luca.

Luca: I still feel bad about it and I would take it back if I could. Unfortunately, you gotta live with your mistakes.

Ashton: I was hurt, but I realized that I can’t hold it against him forever. We’ve both done things we regret.

Komal: Alright, moving on. Can you tell us a little bit about what happens in Impossible?

Ashton: Okay, I’ll give it a shot. Well, like Luca already said, I become an outcast and need Luca’s help becoming popular again. The thing was, I could not stand him!

Luca: And I couldn’t stand her either. I get a makeover, which everyone makes a big deal about, and the makeover catches Ashton’s attention. So we make a deal.

Ashton: Luca pretends to be my boyfriend in exchange for me owing him a favor in the future. There is a lot of drama and we have to work through a lot of problems before we finally begin to trust each other again.

Komal: It’s pretty intense; you both go through a lot! Okay, final question: Falling for Hadie is the second book in the series. The story doesn’t revolve around you, but you both make appearances in it. What can you tell readers about your lives post-Impossible?

Ashton: We’re trying to work through our issues and actually talk about things instead of avoiding our problems. You’ll find that we’ve calmed down a bit in Falling for Hadie.

Luca: You’ll see my band, Skeptic Coil, make an appearance in Falling for Hadie. And Eddie too. He has a bigger role to play in the book as well.

Thank you so much to Arianne from Romantic Maidens Book Tours for having us on her blog and for organizing the Impossible Blog Tour!
