Hong Kong Trip - Part 4

After two days, major walking from morning till night, on the 4th day, we decide to sleep a little bit longer and take our own sweet time to go around. We woke up 10am+, after get ready, we walk to Nathan road, to have our brunch. From our hotel walk to Nathan, it about 10 mins only. We save the best for last, i mean FOOD. hahahhahahhaha

We had dim sum at one nice seafood restaurant @ Nathan Road. We are not sure the food nice or not, but we just want to try the Hong Kong dim sum.

Shamrock Seafood Restaurant

"har gau" yummy and nice and the prawn very fresh.

my rice dumpling, on the menu it wrote with meat and salted egg, which in real i only see all is rice and with VERY little meat, and i cannot find the yolk. :(

char siew chee cheong fun, this is good, the sauce is sepearte, actually they are using soya sauce, we pour on it ourself..

shanghai "siew long pau", siew mai, and a small pot of steam rice with chicken,

On top of that we order one bowl of porridge for sharing, it is very nice, no picture, as hub too excited to gulp down the porridge! Then we saw little bird - pigeon on the menu, i said i want that, so we order two birds for sharing. I show the boys, this is the small bird, i show them the bird head, try to "frighten" them, but who knows they pick up the head and bite on it!

pigeons, it is yummy, but feel guilty eating it. :(

posing with the poor bird head on their mouth, Fearles even "kiss" the bird!! *pengsan*

After our yummy, satisfied and heavy meal, we went to bird Street, shoe street, flower street, gold fish street and ladies street, all are next to each other. We decide to take a cab there, instead of taking MTR. A very friendly taxi driver told us to go to bird street first then to flower street then walk over to fish street then to shoe street, this is the correct route to go, so we won't wasting our time going on the wrong direction and turn back again.

This is the bird street, very interesting place, my boys just love it, and you can see a lot birds in the cage and with many varieties.

this is bird's food

grasshopper? Big size!

you can see a lot bird cages selling here too!

these birds are so cute, all in white and red in beak.

some people will bring their here for "sun bathing". LOL

another type of cute bird.

After our bird street exploring, we walk further to the flower street, very near to bird street, in fact just in front of it, we just need to cross over. Here come the flower street, since Mother's Day is around the corner at that time, so we can see a lot carnation and a lot bouquet of flowers, so many varieties.

bonsai

bouquet of flowers also available here.

when we walk around, we saw this old man selling salted egg and century egg, hub just snap a picture of him.

done with flower street, now cross over the road and go to fish street....

when we are looking for fish street, we smell something smelly, my boys said "what is so smelly!!" then we saw this ------------------------> stinky taufu!! Last year, i had a bite on it, just want to try the taste, and this year...............................................................

this is the fish street, they sell the fishes in a unique way, the packed the fish in the plastic bag, look so colorful and nice.

look at all the fish shop here, one whole street is selling fish stuff including aquarium and fish food and anything related to fish.

after the fish street, we come to ladies street....

after some walking i don't know why end up we are at this wet market, hub said go inside and see how Hong Kong wet market looks like, so we went in. Not big, but those vege, meat are on the second floor, first floor is selling fish and seafood. Their market open till very late, when we are there, it's about 3pm in the afternoon, the market still open, i heard they open till night time about 7pm to 8pm. They sell live chicken, and we saw one customer bought the chicken and want the seller slaughter the chicken for her. I show my boys, how they slaughter the chicken, but the uncle too expect and do it in a really fast way to poke the chicken neck, then there go the chicken.....RIP....too fast, till my boys didn't really catch how they slaughter it.

meat session...

meat and vege....

this is the entrance of the market....

after we came out from the market, we reach the shoe street, many sport shoes here, but almost every shop also full with people, we just too lazy and tired to walk in and see the shoes * a bit regret now*

Walking a while, kids complaining they are tired, so we find a char chan teng to have some drinks. We found this char chan teng, i think quite "famous" because i can see a lot other branch around Hong Kong and also around that area!! They serve porridge, sandwiches and noodles, i think their signature dish is the fish ball noodles. We didn't order that, i am still full from the stinky taufu, although i just had one piece! We order some "yau char kwai" - chinese dough for the kids, then hub order one bowl of porridge, he fall in love with the porridge in Hong Kong, so every where he go he also order porridge. o..O As for me, i just love their milk tea, very "kau kau" and this char chan teng we went, they use Lipton brand tea to make the tea, so smooth and very nice fragrant..

the food they serve .....

my cup of milk tea...yummy!!

smooth and yummy porridge!! slurp slurp...

hub's taking a picture of himself and also the view of the "char chan teng"

this is the "char chan teng"...

After having our "tea break", there is a playground opposite that 'char chan teng" so we brought the boys and let them play. See, traveling with kids, sometime we have to think of them also, give them some time to enjoy themselves and rather just follow us (adults) to walk, walk and more walk. We spent about 1/2 at the park, since it's Friday late afternoon, there are a lot kids playing there, and some elderly people catching up with their friends and some parent are with the kids, very interesting scenery.

my boys just love playground.

it is a non-smoking park!! Cool!

we walk passed this place after the playground, look at the yummy display...droollll.....

ladies street also nearby....

before leaving the place, we took a picture, see our tired face. Enough of walking. hahahhahahhahahahha

We went back hotel for a rest, shower then we went back to Shamrock Restaurant for dinner again!!!!! We thought we want to order some char siew and roast pork for dinner, morning we saw it, then we said we will be back in the evening for dinner. After seated, hub saw the next table are having Peking Duck, he said, maybe we just order Peking duck instead of roast pork. Here the big Peking duck, can imagine 4 of us eat this big duck???

the lady slice out the crispy skin.....

the crispy duck skin goes with the something like popiah skin....

Fearles

we add some sauce, then cucumber and wrap it and eat it.

Cruz only like the skin but not the popiah skin....

kailan....

after they slice out the duck skin, they use the duck meat to fried another dish for us. Meat and some beans i think, we eat it with lettuce....

wrap it and eat.......

Finish our dinner, we walk around, we took MTR to Central, because we want to try the city tram or you called it "ding ding" car..

here is Central...since it is Friday night, party night...you can see a lot people here....especially at Lan Kwai Fong.....

look at the crowd at Lan Kwai Fong on Friday night....

i told hub about i read some good review on this char chan teng, it just opposite Yuen Kee (famous roast goose and century egg), but we didn't have chance to try, maybe next time? This time we didn't dine in Yuen Kee, we tried last year, but we went back there next day to buy their famous century egg to bring back. Last year, i didn't know actually we can buy their century eggs!! If you want to see how heavenly the century egg, look at my last year picture here...

famous Yuen Kee

city tram.....

this is city tram....

Finally ride on the city tram...hmmmm..to me it just like normal bus, only things, it's smaller, and it drove in the centre of the road. We ride for about 15 mins then we get down the tram, and we didn't know where we are that time! We ask the people there where are we, we end up in Wan Chai. LOL! Then my boys said they want to go toilet, we have to ask the nice lady, where can we find a toilet nearby, she point a place quite a distance from where we are, so we WALK again to that place. When we walk, we saw this building, very unique, guess what is it? It is a pub!! Two stories pub, not sure is one or inside there are a few...

we bring the boys to this place for toilet. LOL!!!!!

continue...............
