It's not my fault

Some of you may have read this on my FB, but here i just want to noted it down again for sharing.

Last night, me and my boys doing some reading on Peter and Jane book, when done with the reading, i let them see TV and i want to go for my shower. Cruz always the one that like to talk a lot, he will tell me what the new words he learn from school. Sometime he will tell me some chinese word or ask me what is the meaning. When he is talking, he said "tolong" i said do you know what it's means? He nodded said "help" , then i said Good! Then suddenly he utter "F*** you"! I got a shock, i stop what i am doing and look at him again, i ask what did he said, he said "tolong F*** you", at first i find it a bit funny, and i just want to confirm is he really mean "f*** you" or he is related to some other words. He show me innocent face and repeat again "f*** you". I ask where did he learn this word from? This is a bad word, cannot said. All the question marks start appear in my mind. Did he learn this word from his friends? Cousins? We adults? TV? Then i asked again, he told me "teacher teach one", i laugh, i said "are you sure teacher teach you this word?"

Hub being not a patience guy, this word blow his top, he look at Cruz stern and scolded him with harsh tone. Question him where he learn this word from? From the teacher? Which teacher? I have to cool hub down and tell him, teacher won't teach this word, it might be some new words, and you know sometime kids can't pick up the pronunciation correctly? My little boy must be in the trauma while daddy scold him and he sobbed. I comfort him, it's ok, i will double confirm with teacher again tomorrow morning, see what is the actual word. He is ok after that.

This morning, after he woke up, i make him milk, i so wanted to ask him again about that word, but i don't him to feel "sad" again, i keep it to myself. After he finish his milk, he told me, "mummy, later remember to ask teacher what is the word", he is so afraid, he want to prove he is innocent, that word is a correct word and taught by the teacher. Since he is telling me, so i ask him again (remember i am a mother which never give up on "grilling" till i get the answer?" What is the word teacher teach? Bahasa or English? I have think one whole night, either English or Bahasa, non of the word or sound that can relate to "F*** you". Cruz said, teacher teach sukukata, that is the word "f*** you" from. Hmmmmmm...ok, at least now i got some clue, it's sukukata.

When reach school, i saw their class teacher, so i just ask her, is she teaching them sukukata lately? She said "yes" and "why"? I said, last night Cruz said some "vulgar" word but he told me is teacher teach one. Teacher very surprise, when i told her the word, she said she never teach that word! I said "oh", then she start give some example what word she teach, till come the word "f*** you"! I said, THIS IS THE WORD!!! Teacher look at me and said " Oh, you mean FAKIR?" F A K I R? Yes, that is Bahasa means "poor" in english. Poor people? Now i know why Cruz said "tolong fakir" - helping the poors!!!!

Oh no, this is a new word to me too!!! While i am talking to the teacher, Cruz is standing behind the door and look at us, after i got the answer, he peep at me again and said "bye bye mummy", i told him "ok, mummy got the answer, you're correct, you did not said any bad word." He show me a happy face again.

Another lesson to learn, now talk to kids, use the way like how we talk to a friend, at least they will feel more comfortable, instead of screaming, shouting , scolding and showing them the cane, now it don't work anymore. Kids are innocent, they pick up the word, they also don't know that is the bad word or can said or cannot said, it is our duty to tell and explain to them what can said and what cannot said.

Sorry Cruz, for blaming you, your innocent. Yes, daddy still owe you a "sorry". :)
