Matt Bomer Monday (4) : Flash Flood

Matt Bomer Monday is a weekly meme where I choose an image from Google Images and create a story or a poem from it. This is a weekly tribute on Mondays for the amazing actor.

Water rushed through the dams and flooded the entire city. My nanny immersed herself into the water, hoping to get to the other side. She almost drowned. The fear had me frozen where I stood, the waves threatening to pull me into the water. I reached out my hand and caught her hand, pulling her back to safety.

"I thought you were going to drown. What were you thinking?!"

We moved to higher elevation and waited. We just waited and watched as people tried to swim to the other side. Some made it, but many more didn't. The horror in everyone's faces surrounded us as we sat at the very top steps of the city hall, hugging each other. I shivered as worry filled me along with the cold temperature that cloaked us as day turned into night...

With the rays of the sun shining down on me, I blinked and opened my eyes. We fell asleep. I looked around and the flood was gone. Just like that, all the water was gone as if it was never there. Bodies of people replaced the water that flooded the city. Wails of anguish and sorrow filled the air. I wanted to sympathize with them, but there was only one person in my mind. So, I got up, dusted myself and started walking. I had no destination, but I just had to find him. I needed to know if he made it to safety.

My nanny and I wandered the streets for most of the morning. Stores started opening back up for business, as if nothing happened just the day before. We picked up some bread to eat while we continued walking, searching.

From the corner of my eye, I saw a familiar stance, leaning over the counter of a coffee shop. I knew his built anywhere. I stopped and only stared, until he moved to a table just outside the shop to wait for his order. My nanny tugged on my arm, bringing me back from my trance. I didn't think, I only ran. I skidded to a stop in front of his table. Catching my breath, I gasped, "Matt."

He looked up and smiled. "Hey."
